Hillcrest 3

Firstly, we apologise for the delay in posting yesterday diary entry. We can assure you that it was due to the internet being down and not Mrs Bess's lack of IT skills!
The day started with the welcome arrival of Mr. Carrick, and the sad departure of a rather tearful Mr. Booker?.we just hope he managed a quick shower before returning to school, for 5M sake!
Today was the start of the watery activities, with whales and sharks taking to the canoes first of all. It all began with a few simple paddling instructions. Some groups got the hang of turning the boats so well that they ended up unable to do anything but! At the end of the session, the children decided that it was time to freshen up?with a quick dip in the somewhat muddy lake. Eels, Seals and Dolphins? session started with a chorus of Happy Birthday for Georgia. Eleven dunks in the lake were promised but unfortunately time just ran out! The afternoon canoeing was a much drier experience, with the children only managing to get wet when they were asked to pack away the canoes ? paddling was much more interesting than helping tidy up!
Dolphins and Eels took to the abseiling tower. The tower proved higher that expected for some, but bravely, all the children took the opportunity to admire the view from top. Whales, Sharks and Seals had the pleasurable experience of the challenge course. The course had become somewhat muddier than yesterday, and the children were living proof of this. Mrs Jenkins set the trend with a rather fetching muddy mohican. Rumour has it that Alex Edwards took part, but he was only recognisable through his dental records ? a set of rather shiny white teeth smiling through a very muddy face!
